Imagine my surprise today when I got off the phone with my Mother and turned around to see this dog in my house. We do not own a dog and while we've been thinking about it for some time now we haven't done anything about it. Apparently Aaron left the door open playing with the kids outside and she just let herself in. She then began to eat food off the floor that the kids had dropped during breakfast and snack time. At one point she walked on Spencer's wood train tracks and he said, "Hey Dog! Don't step on it train tracks!" It just made us laugh because the dog acted like she didn't hear him and kept foraging for food. We'd seen her circling our house before and wondered if she was homeless but she seems to be pretty well taken care of so we decided not to keep her even though she didn't want to leave.
The kids loved petting her and were really excited. She just didn't want to leave and actually worked her way into the house twice. Then stood outside with a pathetic can I go back in look. We left shortly after this to get their mind off the dog but as soon as we came home Miya went looking for her under the deck and Spencer was asking about her. Maybe some day we'll get a dog but until then I suppose we can just borrow this one when she's hungry and use her to clean up after the kids.

At least it was a friendly and cute dog that visited. Yeah, Matthew just informed me the other day that we need to get a dog. Hmmm, not quite ready for that yet.
