Splashing in the Rain

8/4 - It was nap time and the big kids were restless and having a hard time being quiet enough so I let them go out and play in the rain. This is Spencer after just three minutes. It was raining pretty hard but he loved it and kept warmer with his coat on, which was also sopping wet.

8/4 - Miya noticed the rain spilling over from neighbor Mark's gutters and decided to catch it in an old ice cream bucket. It was dripping all over her too but she didn't mind. She loves the rain and getting wet and messy.

8/4 - The bucket filled up so naturally she took off her left boot and started to catch the rain in that. She decided that the bucket would make a good boot substitute and used it as she filled up her boot and dumped it onto the big white bucket next to her.

8/4 - My soggy kids loved playing in the rain. They agreed to take a picture as long as it didn't mean they had to come inside.

8/4 - Living on a corner we have a spare driveway behind our house. It has massive puddles in it which Spencer and Miya thought would be great for splashing in. I stayed inside and thus the glare from the window.

8/4 - They had a little splashing contest and Spencer leapt pretty high in order to get his splash on.

8/4 - I'm not sure what motivated Miya to take her boots off and use them to scoop up water but it was fun to watch. She'd get them all full and then put her foot in and the water would come spilling over the top. Then she'd say, "Oh MAN!" Then she'd take it off and try again.
