Ride to the Park

8/20 - The kids all wanted to go to the park so we made a fun evening of it. Spencer and Miya rode their bikes while Amelia and I walked beside them. Aaron took the car in case of potty emergencies and so he could go get our pizza for a picnic dinner later.

Earlier that day poor Alex fell off the couch and cut under his eye on the end table. It looks pretty bad but didn't really bleed at all. Alex loves the swings and I think the fun day helped him forget about his cut.

8/20 - Amelia loves to swing. We have swings at home but there are bushes that hinder a good push so she can never get as high as she wants to. Thus, the park has the best swing with how she can get so high.

8/20 - Aaron decided to swing with the kids. Wait. Where's Aaron? Alex can't find him either. He swung so high that he wasn't even in the picture.

8/20 - After taking four very large steps backward I was able to get Aaron in the picture. I can't believe how high he was I would not be comfortable going that high and I'm afraid of very little.

8/20 - Having ridden his bike to the park Spencer had on his fabulous helmet, which he loves to pieces. He hardly takes it off in case he has to make a quick get away on his bike. It's also great for safety on the climbing wall.

8/20 - This slide is about eight feet off the ground but Alex has no fear. He backed right off the edge with a smile on his face.

8/20 - I expected him to be freaked out when he got to the bottom but he was laughing the whole way down and was super happy at the end. He went at least ten more times after this before we had to pry him away for dinner.

8/20 - I think this picture is pretty cool with the kids in focus and the blurry background. I was on the merry-go-round with them and we were zooming.

8/20 - Miya is quite talented with the swings. Since she was about 2.5 she could pump her own legs to make herself go and get higher. Spencer was struggling with it and she was coaching him on proper swinging techniques. It's fun when they help each other learn.

8/20 - Spencer and Miya were racing their bikes on a basketball court while at the park. Spencer was ahead until Miya made a quick turn and had a shortcut to the finish line. Spencer called her on her cheating but she told him he never said what shape the course was and totally got him on a technicality.

8/20 - After a thorough explanation of the course and a walk though they were ready to go again. I love how they both have their game faces on while I'm saying "ready, set, go!"

8/20 - Amelia loves to run and is adorable how she does it. It involves A LOT of arm pumping and twisting of the upper body. I can't get enough and have her run to make me smile whenever we go outside.
