We love the Zoo! It's been so long since we've been because it's been closed and snowing. Today we got to go back and we saw and got pictures of a few new animals and a lot of old favorites.
-----
Amelia was ready before the rest of us were and looking oh so cute in her zoo appropriate outfit complete with giraffes. She does look pretty bored and is probably thinking, quit taking pictures and go shower Mom!

Either these tiny turtles weren't there last time we went or we missed them because they were new to us. We loved them. Especially Miya was excited to be able to get so close to them.-----
They had these little plastic containers all around the zoo with different things in them that applied to the animals that they were near. This was a snake skin next to a giant boa constrictor. Spencer didn't want to touch it at first but Dad tried then he had to. Miya was content just to look at it from a distance.-----
What you can't see is that my little munchkins are on their tippy toes to see these baby animals. The tanks on either end have tiny seahorses in them. I was amazed at how small they were.-----
These are star fish. Miya loves them but didn't want to touch, Spencer was very hands on. They felt rougher than I expected them too and not at all squishy.-----
I was trying to get a picture of Spencer with the cool alligator that we have never taken a picture of even though it's been there forever but again we didn't get one. Instead he said he wanted to "go look at the WHALE!" by which he meant these giant fish. They are pretty whale-like in size especially if you're a little boy whose never seen a whale in person.-----
This tiger kept circling his cage and every time he came back around he'd look at Spencer like he was a tasty treat. You can see it in this picture, I'm sure he's thinking, if it weren't for that darn glass I'd have a yummy snack.-----
The kids got to feed the ducks this time too. We'd never done that before and they were both pretty excited. Miya loves ducks, like all other animals, and wanted to take one home.-----
Amelia slept through the entire zoo trip, which was nice but it's too bad I didn't get to show her off with her cute outfit. I think she prefers her Baby Einstein floor time animals anyway. This smile proves it.
It looks like another great day at the zoo! Amelia looks so cute in her zoo outfit. Next time you come we will have to do some whale watching in the Atlantic. Jim says that kids will love it.
