Spencer was so excited to have his Daddy back after five weeks. It was so fun to pick up Aaron from the airport and see Spencer's smiling face. The kids had grown and changed a lot. Miya says a few words and walks and Spencer says a lot more words and they've both gotten so big. I love this picture of my little Spencer and his Daddy walking out to the ocean. Spencer loves the ocean, it's one of his newly acquired words.

Miya on the other hand does not like the ocean. Nana took us to the ocean for a few minutes and Miya was not impressed. She hated the water and after the water she hated the sand. She'd played before in dry sand but after the ocean it was no longer a good thing. In fact when we went this time as soon as we got close enough to see the ocean Miya started to cry and say no. This picture is of her trying to get up the nerve to play in the sand.

Here is all of us but me at the beach, someone has to take all the pictures :). Left to right: Austin, Aaron, Spencer, Miya, Brian, Michelle, and Nana. The weather doesn't look that great but it was actually quite warm. Well, that's relative I suppose. I'm from Iowa and it's nearing winter time. The water was warm and really nice though. Aaron had a great time playing in the sand. He was a "dirt" major at BYU and now works for Union Pacific Railroad so maybe he figured he'd put his college education to use building sand castles. He did a great job and Austin, Spencer, and Miya loved helping.

This is Nana with poor little Miya. She wanted to show Brian and Aaron how much Miya hates the ocean. It was pretty funny. She brought her out there and tried to get her to walk in but Miya was doing everything she could to walk the other way. Then Nana just ran and dipped her toes and Miya screamed. I love this picture the best because with ocean waves kept freaking Miya out after she got wet and she was watching them come crashing in like she was afraid they were going to get her, and Nana is just laughing.

Eventually Miya did get used to the sand and ended up like that part a lot and getting it everywhere. My kids decided rather spontaneously to go attack the birds together. Even Spencer crawled to be extra sneaky. The birds were the wiser though because they could hop away faster than my kids could crawl.
It wasn't only me that wanted to put Miya in the ocean everyone wanted to see her reaction also.
