Ankeny Summerfest

Ankeny Summerfest was on July 11th this year and we had a lot of fun watching the parade, touching trucks, and the kids even went on a ride at the carnival. I have a ton of pictures of our good times.

Here we all are ready for the parade to start. We were right at the beginning which was down the street from Faith's house.

Spencer was excited to see the ambulance start out the parade.

Miya was all about the candy. They kept tossing out tons of candy and Miya would pick out the one she liked best then sit down and enjoy.

Back at Faith's house Miya decided she wanted to climb the tree. She was trying really hard pulling on the branches but she couldn't do it alone so I helped her up. She's hanging there all by herself and I've got my hands ready to catch her. She had to do this over and over again.

After the parade we went to the touch a truck they had in a park. They brought in all different kinds and the kids got to sit in them. This is Miya driving the fire truck.

Spencer really loved his turn at the fire truck. He kept quoting lines from Emergency! his favorite television show.

Next we went to the tractors. Miya was excited to drive Dad around for a change.

Spencer being a big boy got up all by himself and was pretending to drive around. He loved that it was a green tractor.

I wanted a turn too because it looked like so much fun and there was a little side seat just for the baby so we went up together and she got her own spot.

Next Spencer saved the day as a policeman.

The dump truck was last and he was soaking it up. His cute face is a result of making truck noises as he turned the wheel.

After the touch a truck we went walking around the carnival and splurged so the kids could go on this ride. Spencer and Miya loved it. Miya was laughing and grinning the whole time and Spencer kept yelling out wee!
