I thought it would be easier just to post all of January's pictures into one post. It may not flow well but at least this will get me all caught up on my blog!

- Miya had a loose tooth for a while on the bottom. It was crazy
because the new tooth had come in behind her old one and they were both
there happily co-existing. Then she was sitting watching a movie and it
came right out. It fell onto her blanket and rolled right off. It was
pretty hard to find but we did and she was so excited to use the tooth
fairy bag and put it under her pillow!
|
 |
| 1/3 - As it turns out we never spent the money
Miya got from the tooth fairy last time so now she had two visits worth.
We had to go into town anyway so we looked around Walmart and found
this fun Connect Four type of game for only $2.50! So we gave her fifty
cents and brought it home. The kids are really good at it and they
learned how to block each other so it's not always the first person who
goes wins. |

- Aaron has some drywall just sitting around in the garage waiting to
have time to use it. The dining room has been at a stand still for
months now as we have had so many more pressing needs. When Alex saw
that Aaron was going to work on the house he got so excited! He went
and grabbed his toy hammer and joined in on the fun.

 |
| 1/4 - Here is a close up of Alex helping Aaron hammer in the drywall.

- The high was 66* which is just unheard of for an Iowa January! We
took full advantage and played in the park for about 1.5 hours and then
came home and played some more! We just picked up this fun bubble
mower, it doesn't have bubbles because usually they'd freeze here in the
winter. Amelia loved being about to play outside with it.

- Spencer and Miya loved riding their bikes with just a light jacket
on. We imagined there would be a lot of snow on the ground right about
now but you can still see the leaves we never quite got rid of from the
fall.

- I told the big kids they could ride in the street if they watched for
cars. Alex, always up for an adventure, decided to join them. He kept
looking back to make sure it was okay. I stayed close but no cars went
by and it was so fun to se him roam free.
|
 |
| 1/5 - Alex didn't quite understand that you
were supposed to push the mower. He loved dragging it behind him as he
followed the big kids on their bikes. |
 |

- I had to get a shot of everyone playing in the street. I adore
living in a small town where it is more than safe to do this. We only
had one car pass by while we played.

- Amelia is the QUEEN of facial expressions! It's been like this since
the day she was born. She can make all kinds of crazy faces to show
what she's feeling. This is one of my favorites! The concern I really
want to do that but I think it's wrong face. I see that a lot.
|
 |
| 1/14 - Here's another Amelia expression that I love. The I'm thinking about doing something face. LOVE IT!

- Ya know, some times one sippy cup just doesn't get the job done.
Here's Alex with one milk-filled sippy and one juice-filled sippy. He
carried them around together for a while and once even tried to drink
from both at the same time. I'm glad it didn't work I imagine that
would be yucky!

- It snowed for like the third time this winter and the kids were all
excited to go out and play. I geared them all up and got them out
there. Alex even wanted to go, he hadn't played in the snow yet this
winter. He got his hat, mittens, and shoes and dropped them on my lap.
Too bad the enthusiasm didn't carry over while he was outside.

- Here's Alex hating the snow! I don't know what happened between I
want to go outside, happily gabbering and kicking his feet while we
walked down the porch steps, and this picture. I guess snow isn't all
it's cracked up to be after all.
|
 |
| 1/18 - Miya, on the other hand, LOVES to play
in the snow. It's seriously her all time favorite thing. I was feeling
really sorry for her this winter because it had only snowed twice
before this and both times it was light and gone by the next day. This
snow hung around for a little bit. |

- Spencer's favorite thing is to dig. It really doesn't matter what
he's digging in like rocks, sand, snow, as long as he can dig it he digs
it.
|
 |
| 1/18
- Miya loves to make little caves in the snow banks for her little
animal friends to hide in when they get cold. She's such and outdoorsy
little girl I think she wouldn't ever come in side if she wasn't made
to.
|
 |
| 1/18
- Spencer loves to dig tunnels in the snow. You can just see his
gloved hand poking through the tunnel on the bottom. These tunnels were
all over our yard before too long.

- Sticks and Strings 2012 - Knitting and crochet retreat. Jessyca and I
working hard. This is right after we got there on Friday and I hadn't
even gone 5 inches yet so it's a good show of what I started at. I was
working on a blanket and Jessyca made a Lucy bag. Read more about my fun time on my Craft Blog... http://thatssojulie.blogspot.com/2012/01/sticks-string-2012.html
