Up A "Mountain" Trail

5/23 - Miya got a fabulous new haircut today.  Since her last haircut was about 2.5 years ago this was a big deal.  She got it layered and a bunch of length cut off (probably 8").  It was also layered around her face so it wouldn't go in her mouth and get in her food, which was one of our biggest problems.   I asked where she wanted to pose for her picture and she ran to and climbed the tree.

5/23 - Another cute shot of Miya modeling her new haircut.

5/23 - Alex has hated the grass a lot.  He would cry whenever it would touch him and while he loved being outside he hated being put down.  Even yesterday he was crying when we were out in the grass.  Aaron put him down and he was happy as a clam.  He'd run his fingers though the grass and even crawled around a little bit.  Hurray for outdoor fun!

5/23 - We want for a while on the town trail.  We've been on it several times but always went the other way.  Today we went East and it was a lot more exciting.  There were two bridges, one over train tracks and one over a river.  We climbed this little incline and the big two were convinced it was a mountain.  When we got to the top Spencer said, "Look how high up we are and look how small the car is!"  I can't wait to show them what real mountains look like on our road trip this Summer.

5/23 - Spencer noticed that there were a bunch of trees lining the path.  He said, "That's a forest.  There are wolves in the forest.  I'll watch out for the wolves and yell if I see one coming!"  He was as good as his word and watched out for us on our whole walk.

5/23 - We told them they could run as far and as fast as they wanted.  They couldn't contain themselves.  Amelia runs with her whole body and I just love it.  She's not as fast as the big two but she makes up for it in cuteness.

5/23 - The second bridge over the river.  They loved watching it and looking around at the trees.  On the way back to the car a train went under us on the train bridge.  It was fun to see the top of one and to get the kids so close.  We were all hot and pretty tired and Spencer suggested we go to "Dairy Cream" to cool off.  It had been a while so we thought why not.  It was fun but the guy who rang us up was the worst ever.  We told him we wanted three sundaes one strawberry, one blueberry, and one hot fudge.  He gave us one with all three toppings and charged us extra for it.  It was difficult to end up with what we wanted but we had fun and enjoyed yummy ice cream to cool us off.
