Aaron is 31!

7/27 - The kids each made Aaron a card for his 31st birthday. We made them the night before and they were so excited they kept talking about it so we opened the cards and his present first thing in the morning.

7/27 - This is how it always is when Aaron his home. He is surrounded by kids who all want to be right next to him. It was even worse when he was opening his present. Aaron told me to consider the bathroom remodel his present but you can't have a birthday without opening anything. The kids and I picked out the movie Tron. We'd never seen it before and Spencer thought the cover looked awesome. We watched it before lunch and loved it. I can't believe it took us this long to see.

7/27 - The kids all had to show off their cards. They stamped stuff on the front and picked what to write on the inside. Spencer and Miya did all of their own writing and I was so proud of them. Alex wasn't old enough to use the stamps but he colored a piece of art on the front of his.

7/27 - Aaron doesn't like birthday cake so we always have a yummy substitute. This year he opted for a Key Lime Pie. I gotta say I make a mean Key Lime pie but it needs just the right juice and I had to go to a few stores to find the right kind. I arranged his 31 candles and probably got a tan bringing it to him with all that flame. The kids were excited to sing Happy Birthday.

7/27 - The candles melted crazy fast.  Maybe it has something to do with this heat wave we're having but it was a gooey mess when he blew them out.  I'm glad the wax came off easily though.

7/27 - They say the way to a man's heart is though his stomach and I ran with that thought while celebrating Aaron's birthday today. We had a fairly boring cereal breakfast but we had sauteed mushroom cheeseburgers for lunch. Key Lime pie for dessert. Lots of chips and candy. Then finally Brazilian Limeade for an afternoon treat. I think it was the year of the limes or something. He requested the Limeade specifically and it's quite tasty. It has limes and sweetened condensed milk and it's oh so yummy. After this he had to go to work an afternoon shift at Union Pacific with the heat index over 100. I hope the fabulous morning made up for the lame evening.

Happy Birthday to Aaron! My husband isn't so fond of birthday cake either.
